. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .BRIEF BIOGRAPHY. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .on november 2nd in 1983, the winchester house burned to the ground, with mary pinned to the ceiling. upon mary's death, john takes his son's with him on the road, hell-bent on murdering the demon that killed his wife. dean's early childhood was not an easy one, and was far from normal; john treated his boys like soldiers rather than boys, training them on how to become hunters. without any place to truly call home, sam & dean grew used to living a life on the road; sleeping in shitty motel rooms and the backseat of the impala, never staying in one town for more than three weeks, never visiting the same place twice. dean was deemed his brother's protector, unable to live a life of his own, always watching out for sammy.that is, until sam leaves for college and disappears from dean's life altogether. it's not long after sam disappears that john leaves too, only checking in occasionally to give dean a new lead to follow (a new thing to kill).there was only one rule that john swore that dean was meant to obey; don't visit sam. and for dean's first act of rebellion, he doesn't listen.for a more extended version of dean's biography, click here.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .ADDITIONAL CANON DIVERGENCIES. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 001. . .this blog is VERY ANTI-JOHN WINCHESTER. dean has severe childhood trauma from the emotional / physical abuse that he endured from john. john is the root of most of dean's problems, and this will not be sugar-coated for any john-lovers. a more detailed headcanon discussing dean's relationship to john can be found here.002. . .due to his own toxic masculinity (thanks john), dean has trouble addressing his own emotions, and refuses to accept his own sexuality. dean additionally has extreme issues with alcohol & drug dependencies, which are used as a way to cope with all of his issues.003.. . dean is a HIGHLY TRAINED killer, a soldier that was raised in the life of hunting. he is entirely capable of hunting on his own, and very rarely needs the assistance of others (despite what canon may say).

. . . . . .VERSE 001. HUNTING IS WHAT I DO. . . . . .follows seasons 1-3. hell-bent on reuniting his family, dean goes to stanford in hopes of bringing his brother back into a life of hunting.

. . . . . . . . . VERSE 003. DEANMON. . . . . . . . .dean was never raised from hell by angels in season 4, but is instead left in the pit. his soul slowly rots away, until he rises again with black eyes and a soul to match.

APOCALYPSE NOW. . . . . . . when monsters take over the world and human civilization is eradicated, sam dies at the hands of a creature. dean is left to navigate the void (previously known as earth) completely alone for the first time in his life, hell-bent on getting vengeance on the creatures that took everything.

. . . . . . . .VERSE 007. HUNTER CORPS. . . . . . . . after mary's death, john does everything he can to find out the truth. upon learning about the monsters that lurk in the shadows, he forms a corporation, where hunters get paid to save lives. soon, it becomes a multi-billion dollar corporation, all left to the inheritance of sam & dean

THOSE FUCKING SUPES / the boys. . . mary worked at vought international. when sam falls deathly ill as an infant, she signs a waiver that allows the company to use sam as a test subject in their pilot project for a new type of compound v; in return, she granted her family safety from the company she desperately hoped to abandon. after homelander finds out about the deal, he decides to take matters into his own hands, and dean watches his mother die before his eyes. john spends the rest of his life hating supes, raising dean to hold similar values; little did they know that sam was the very thing they hated most.

TOWN OF FREAKS / stranger things. . .dean was born in 1966 raised in indianapolis until his mother died from cancer when dean was four years old. after mary's death, john moves him and sam to the small town of hawkins in hopes of building a new life; it's there that sam is taken to the hawkins lab, where he supposedly dies in a lab accident when dean is sixteen. heartbroken, john moves him and dean back to indianapolis, where he turns to alcoholism and forces dean into a military survivalist lifestyle. without any proof of sam's death, and no real body to recover, dean remains suspicious of the hawkins lab, and returns to hawkins (under the guise of finishing out his high school career in a familiar area). hell-bent on finding out more about sam's death and the hawkins lab, he begins to unfold an unfortunate truth about the town and its residents.

. . . . . . . . VERSE 002. RIGHTEOUSNESS. . . . . . . follows seasons 4-5. dean is michael's true vessel, expected to do great things by the dicks with wings up above.

. . . . . . . . VERSE 004. ALT DEANMON. . . . . . . .sam takes over hell in season 4, with the help of ruby, uses his demonic powers to raise dean from the pit. dean then becomes a knight of hell, feared by all.

. . . . .VERSE 006. APPLE CORES CYANIDE SEED. . . . .sam was never the child targeted by azazel: dean was. when dean started to show his abilities as a teenager, mary begins to get back into the lifestyle she swore she'd never return to; all in an attempt to get revenge on the monster that turned her baby into a freak.

. . . . . . . . VERSE 008. FANGS OUT. . . . . . . . .dean gets bitten by a vampire in s3. without any knowledge of a potential cure, he is forced to fully transition, and live out the rest of his life as one of the bloodsucking freaks that he had spent so long hunting. after a while, he grows used to the monster he'd become - embraces it.

ANOTHER LIFE TO SAVE / fear street. . sam and dean are dropped in the town of shadyside in 1991, while john is away, hunting a wendigo. it's not long before sam and dean realize that the rumours surrounding shadyside are real, and that the murders are the result of some century-long witch's curse. it's only a few weeks in town before sam is plagued with visions of his own death, and dean begins to further investigate the murders (along with the help of some new friends in town) in hopes of saving his little brother from the so-called "murderous witch," and solving his very first solo case (all in hopes of finally getting his father's pride and appreciation).
